I am so fortunate to have a Father n Law who owns a home on the island. Our family spends a lot of time there in the spring and summer and sometimes a little in the winter!
I may be a little bias, but Boca Grande has the best sunset (and sunrise from the southend). The blue water and white sand are also second to none. In addition to enjoying the island’s beauty, we also love to fish, eat and take part in the super fun downtown holiday events. Easter is one of our favorite holidays to spend on the island. The 4th of July Golf Cart parade is also a highlight of the year! Because Boca Grande is the Tarpon Capital of the World, we do tend to fish a lot! My son loves to catch snook off the dock.

What to do: BG has world classing fishing! Stroll down Banyan Street, visit the shrimp boat, shop downtown, walk the beach, visit the lighthouse and museum at the south end. Enjoy the paved trails, search for roaming iguanas, take a boat to Cabbage Key for a burger, play golf at The Inn, and most of all relax!!
Where to shop: Lots of cute downtown shops! It’s small, so you can check them all out in a day or two. *The Palm and Fugates are my fav!
What to eat: The Pink Elephant, PJ’s SeaGrille, Miller’s Eagle Grille, The Temp, Cabbage Key, Rum Bay, The Innlet, The Inn Bakery has the best donuts, but go early-they sell out fast! Ice cream at The Caboose is the best!
Where to stay: The Inn, The Innlet, Boca Grande Real Estate can always help with rental properties. And, as always, I love using AirBnB! Be sure to rent or bring a golf cart!
