New York City

I’ve been to NYC several times. I ran the NYC Marathon in 2009 and before that, I visited for family reunions as a kid. The trip to The Big Apple that tops them all was in 2015 when I took my son, Evan for his 10th birthday.

It was just the 2 of us and we had the best time. We laughed and talked and bonded as every mother should do with her pre-teen. I felt so grateful. I was on cloud nine and so was he. He had researched before we left and learned a lot about the places we were going to see.

” Even though I had been there before, NYC is a place that for me, changes daily. You can always find something different each and every time you go.”

I hired Dina, a private guide (booked through a travel agent), so we could experience as much as possible in 5 days. She was amazing. Even though I had been there before, NYC is a place that for me, changes daily. You can always find something different each and every time you go. Our photos speak for themselves, but a couple highlights was catching a Mets game and dinner at The River Cafe where a tie designer from J Crew happened to sit next to us. She complimented Evan on his attire…that just so happened to be J.Crew. We also loved eating Nutella Crepes for dinner in Eatally Cafee and strolling through Central Park every morning.

I truly hope he remembers this vacation and maybe those memories will inspire him to take his kid(s) somewhere special when they hit the double digit birthday! Anxious to see where my daughter chooses ☺️
